32-Hour Work Week Trial Begins Sept. 1

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

The Ferry County Board of Commissioners approved a 32-hour work week trial for county employees starting September 1, 2025, and running through November 30, 2025. The trial will close several county offices on Fridays including the Auditor's Office, Assessor's Office, Building and Planning Department, Public Records, Commissioner's Office, Public Works, WSU Extension, Treasurer's Office, GIS Office, and the Clerk of the Board.

County Clerk April Drennan will manage the Clerk of the Board office during the trial period. The Board's May 27, 2025 meeting approved the trial to evaluate potential benefits for staff and service delivery. The trial period was set to last three months, with the county monitoring operations during the closed Fridays.

The county also announced a new website launch to replace the previous volunteer-managed site. The new site will serve as the official press release center for county departments and provide updated information on services. Departments will now follow new procedures to keep their pages current, ending the prior volunteer-only management model.
