Ferry County Environmental Health will launch a new online permitting system on Monday, April 20, replacing an outdated platform that the vendor no longer supports. The upgrade covers septic permits, food establishment permits, complaints, and other applications.
The new system lets residents submit permit applications online, check application status without calling the office, and search historical septic permit records. Property owners, homebuyers, realtors, and septic pumpers will be able to look up what a septic system was originally permitted for β information that can affect building plans and real estate decisions.
Residents should be aware of a temporary service gap from April 14 through April 17. During that window, online complaint submissions will be unavailable and new applications will not be processed. Anyone with an urgent violation or concern during those days should call the office directly. Septic applications can still be submitted using the PDF form on the county website; staff will enter those into the new system once it goes live. All applications, including those submitted during the transition, will begin processing on April 20.
Once the system is live, users can create an account to manage applications and access documents through the online portal. For questions or to report an urgent concern during the transition, contact the Environmental Health office at (509) 684-2262, option 2.
