County Environmental Health Permitting Goes Online April 20

Ferry County Environmental Health is launching a new online permitting system on Monday, April 20, replacing its current platform, which is no longer supported by its vendor. The upgrade will allow residents, property owners, and professionals to submit permit applications, track their status, and search records online without calling the office.

The new system covers septic permits, food establishment permits, complaints, and other environmental health applications. Users will be able to create an account to manage documents and view application progress. A septic search tool will let property owners, homebuyers, realtors, and septic pumpers look up existing permit records — including what a system was originally permitted for.

Residents should be aware of a temporary service gap from April 14 through April 17 while staff complete the transition. During that window, online complaint submissions will be unavailable and new applications will not be processed. Anyone with an urgent violation or concern can call the office directly. Septic applications can still be submitted using the PDF form on the county website; staff will enter those into the new system once it goes live on April 20.

Residents with questions can contact the Environmental Health team at (509) 684-2262, option 2.
