Ferry County will close several offices on Fridays from September 1 to November 30, 2025, as part of a 32-hour work week trial for county employees. The Board of Commissioners approved the trial at a May 27, 2025 meeting.
The offices closing Fridays include the Auditor's Office, Assessor's Office, Building and Planning Department, Public Records, Commissioner's Office, Public Works, WSU Extension, Treasurer's Office, and GIS Office. Clerk of the Board April Drennan announced the schedule change.
The new Ferry County website launched this week, replacing a volunteer-managed site. The county said it will now set procedures to keep department pages updated. The website will serve as the official press release center for county government agencies.
