Ferry County residents have several conservation and community events to look forward to this week, running from Sunday, April 19 through Saturday, April 25.
Republic Clean-Up Day is scheduled for Sunday, April 19. The location is still to be determined. Organizers ask residents to contact Spark at (509) 775-1086 or check Facebook for more details. The event is hosted by Republic Business & Professional Women.
On Wednesday, April 22 — Earth Day — three events are planned. Curlew Lake State Park will host a ranger-led hike, and Discover Passes will be free at all Washington State Parks that day. Republic School will hold a school-wide community service cleanup. The Confederated Colville Tribe will also hold an Earth Day Celebration at the Pow-wow Grounds.
The week wraps up with the Spring Conservation Fair on Saturday, April 25, at the Ferry County Fairgrounds. The fair will feature informational booths and activities focused on local conservation efforts and sustainable practices. The Ferry Conservation District, based at 84 E. Delaware Ave. in Republic, is also holding a Special Board of Supervisors Meeting on April 22 at 5:00 PM. The public can attend in person or listen online.
