Ferry County Launches Online Permitting System April 20

Ferry County Environmental Health is launching a new online permitting system on Monday, April 20, replacing an outdated platform that is no longer supported by its vendor. The upgrade will allow residents, property owners, and professionals to submit applications, track progress, and access records entirely online.

The new system covers septic permits, food establishment permits, and complaint submissions. Users will be able to create an account to manage documents, view application status without calling the office, and search for septic permit records by property. That search feature is aimed at homebuyers, realtors, property owners, and septic pumpers who need to locate or research existing systems.

Residents should be aware of a brief service gap from April 14 through April 17 as staff transitions to the new platform. During that window, online complaint submissions will be unavailable and new applications will not be processed. Anyone with an urgent violation or concern during those days should call the office directly. Septic applications can still be submitted via a PDF form on the county website and will be entered into the new system once it goes live.

All applications — including those submitted during the transition — will begin processing on April 20. Residents with questions can contact the Environmental Health team at (509) 684-2262, option 2.
