The Ferry Conservation District has announced several upcoming community events for April 2026, including clean-up opportunities, an Earth Day celebration, and a countywide conservation fair.
Scrap Metal Pickup — Week of April 6 City of Republic residents can schedule a free scrap metal pickup during the week of April 6. Pickups are limited to locations within city limits. Residents must call Republic City Hall at 509-775-3216 to arrange a pickup time.
Free Bark Pickup Day — April 11 A free bark pickup day will be held at Vaagen Brothers Lumber Inc.
Republic Clean-Up Day — Sunday, April 19 Republic Clean-Up Day is scheduled for Sunday, April 19, at a location still to be determined. The event is organized by Republic Business & Professional Women. Residents can contact Spark at 509-775-1086 or check Facebook for updates.
Earth Day — Tuesday, April 22 Republic schools will hold a school-wide community service clean-up day on April 22 in observance of Earth Day. Earth Day events also include a celebration at the Confederated Colville Tribe Pow-wow Grounds and a ranger-led hike at Curlew Lake State Park. Washington State Parks Discover Passes will be free that day at state parks. The Ferry Conservation District's regular board meeting will also take place on April 22 at the district office.
Spring Conservation Fair — Saturday, April 25 The Spring Conservation Fair is set for Saturday, April 25, at the Ferry County Fairgrounds. The fair will feature informational booths and resources focused on local conservation efforts and sustainable practices.
