The Ferry Conservation District has posted a series of upcoming community events for April 2026, including environmental cleanups, free resource giveaways, and a countywide conservation fair.
A free scrap metal pickup week began Monday, April 6, for City of Republic residents only. Residents must call Republic City Hall at 509-775-3216 to arrange pickup. A free bark pickup day is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, at Vaagen Brothers Lumber Inc.
On Sunday, April 19, Republic Business & Professional Women will host a Republic Clean-Up Day. The location is still to be determined. Residents can contact Spark at 509-775-1086 or check Facebook for updates.
Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22, will include multiple local events: a Republic School-Wide Community Service clean-up day, a Confederated Colville Tribe Earth Day Celebration at the Pow-wow Grounds, and a ranger-led hike at Curlew Lake State Park. Washington State Discover Pass fees will be waived that day at Curlew Lake.
The month wraps up with the Spring Conservation Fair on Saturday, April 25, at the Ferry County Fairgrounds. The event will feature informational booths and resources focused on conservation and sustainable practices. The Ferry Conservation District Board will also meet on April 22 at the district office at 84 E Delaware Ave in Republic.
